Lim: CEC can throw Karpal and me out
PENANG: DAP chairman Lim Kit Siang said yesterday he will relinquish all party posts if the central executive committee wants him to do so during its meeting tomorrow.
He said it was up to the CEC and party members to decide on his political future.
Former Perak DAP political bureau director Fan Yew Teng had said that Lim and deputy chairman Karpal Singh should resign following DAP's dismal showing in the general election.
"The CEC will have the opportunity to consider his (Fan's) insistence," Lim said in a statement.
Karpal Singh, however, said he and Lim would not abandon the party as long as "we are still fit and healthy and with fire in our bellies."
He said although the party leadership had to take responsibility for the bad showing, DAP could bounce back as it had several times before.
