Harakah to print Bernama denial
PETALING JAYA: PAS party organ Harakah says it will publish a denial by the national news agency Bernama that it doctored a picture to show a crowd welcoming the Prime Minister to be bigger than it actually was. Harakah editor Zulkifli Sulong said he had received Bernama's denial on Tuesday and would be carrying it in the next edition appearing today.
Harakah, in its Monday edition, alleged that a Bernama picture carried on the front page of Berita Minggu on Nov 28 on the visit of Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad to Perlis on Nov 27 was a doctored picture.
Bernama said the picture had not been tampered with. It was taken by a Bernama photographer who sent it to Kuala Lumpur via wire transmission shortly after the event.
Bernama received the picture at 6pm and distributed it to all its clients within 20 minutes, leaving no room for any doctoring as suggested by Harakah.
+ Harakah akan letakkan berita ini dalam keluarannya dan rakyat akan jadi hakim. Kita yakin bahawa gambar itu boleh diedit secara profesional dalam beberapa minit sahaja.
