We'll not disrupt polling day, says front

KUALA LUMPUR: The Barisan Alternatif has made a commitment that it would not disrupt polling day.

Parti Keadilan Nasional president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the opposition front wanted the same commitment from Barisan Nasional.

"Let the people decide. This is what we ask for," she told a ceramah attended by about a thousand people in the Wangsa Maju parliamentary constituency here last night.

Dr Wan Azizah said the opposition front wanted a fight on equal terms.

She also advised the people not to be worried about the grouping.

"If the Barisan Alternatif loses, nothing will happen," she said, adding that Malaysia was a multi-racial society and everybody had a place.

Keadilan vice-president Marina Yusof, who is running for the Wangsa Maju seat, told non-Muslims not to be afraid of Islam.

She said every citizen was equal before the law.
